"I
am happy to announce that Danida today has assigned Danish ICT
Management with the task to formulate strategies and examples on how to
integrate ICT in Danida Sector programmes world-wide", says Frantz
Longhi, Danish Management Group President.
At the same time as we start the new project Ms. Ulla Hauer will be employed in Danish ICT Management. |
The project has the following outputs:
1.
·Recommendations on best practises for the use of ICTs in Danish sector
programme assistance, including examples and best practises on how ICTs
can be used in the national poverty reduction strategy processes;
2.
·A check-list on ICT and development for the use of Danida staff
members when planning specific programme or project activities;
3.
·Adapting the above mentioned recommendations on best practices and
checklist for presentation on Ministry of Foreign Affairs website
and/or intranet including linked references to information on the
specific best practices mentioned and possible external links for
further information on ICT and development.
The contract sum
is EUR 135,000 and the projects runs until end October 2004. First
progress report to be submitted at the end of Maj 2004. Danish ICT
Managementis was assigned with approximately 2 months - and
approximately 1.5 months for Danish Management Group staff in
Bangladesh.
"I see this project as one of the most important
steps for Danida to integrate ICT into all their development programmes
- and I am most happy that Danish ICT Management was selected to assist
Danida with this important step forward in information society. Danida
being one of the biggest development organisations in the world and
Denmark being no. 1 country in the world within the use of ICT in
society (just appointed) is a strong combination. Being the company to
advise Danida on its ICT strategy gives Danish ICT Management a very
good strategic platform and reference for future projects around in the
world for similar issues".
As part of the present assignment
we will e.g. make missions to 5 of Danida's partner-countries (to be
selected) to discuss ICT and its present inclusion in the programmes.
We will also visit some of the most important international donors to
review their perception and application of ICT in development - and
what they may have in their strategic ICT pipelines. Among donors that
we expect to visit on behalf of Danida are World Bank, EU Commission,
United Nations and SIDA (the Swedish Development Organisation).
