Danish Management was in late 2007 nominated by the EC to perform the mid-term evaluation of the Commission’s biggest ICT project in China, the EU – China Information Society Project, which runs from July 2005 until June 2009.

The total program funding is EUR 22,110,000 including the EC grant of EUR 15,000,000 and Chinese contribution of EUR 7,110,000 for supplies and operational costs.

The aim of the project is to promote economic and social reform in China through informatization. The project consists of four components:

1. Building regulatory and legislation capacity for development of information society with relevant ministries of China
2. Improving e-government services through six demonstration projects
3. Improving institutional capacity for regulatory and e-government services through provinces training
4. Building administrative capacity

The team in charge of the mid-term evaluation was headed by Danish Management’s team leader Annegrete Lausten and was performed in January 2008.
