The first three CDM projects in the Danish CDM project pipeline in Thailand have now passed their final test and been registered as CDM project activities by the Executive Board of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the UNFCCC.

The implementation of the three biogas systems will result in a total annual Green House Gas emission reduction of about 72.000 tons, and will deliver and sell 344.000 CERs (certified emission reductions) to the Danish Government before the end of the first commitment period in late 2012.

says Karsten Holm. Danish Energy Management’s team leader for the Danish CDM project in Thailand. “The conditions for developing and getting CDM projects approved in Thailand are cumbersome and very time consuming and we are therefore extra happy that we are finally seeing the result of our efforts”.

There are 16 projects in the Danish CDM pipeline in Thailand. All are managed by Danish Energy Management. Karsten expects that within the next 2 month another 4 projects will follow the success of the first three.
