With European Dynamics as lead, Danish ICT Management has won the WB - ICT Expert Services contract award. This framework will give us a good reference for future use.
The Global Information and Communication Technologies (GICT) Department is a joint World Bank/IFC department. It includes a Bank policy division (CITPO), IFC investment and portfolio divisions, and the secretariat of the infoDev donor-funded program. Working with both the public and private sectors, GICT serves as the World Bank Group’s core department for research, policy, investments and other programs related to ICTs in developing countries. GICT provides governments, private companies, and civil society organizations with the expertise and capital needed to develop and apply ICT’s to reduce poverty and foster development.
GICT is currently focused on six practice areas:
- Telecommunications convergence policy and regulation
- Rural access/broadband
- State owned enterprises (SOE) Reform
- Media
- IT industry development
- e-Government and sector applications

GICT is a global unit and operates across the six regions of the World Bank Group: (i) East Asia and the Pacific, (ii) South Asia, (iii) Middle East and North Africa, (iv) Africa, (v) Europe and Central Asia, and (vi) Latin America and the Caribbean.
GICT’s activities include support and funding of legal, policy, regulatory and institutional initiatives, backbone networks, Wide Area Networks, mobile platforms, cross-cutting approaches to enterprise architecture, interoperability, shared infrastructure and services (including Gateways, datacenters, government-wide networks), new business models and high impact sectoral applications e.g. tax administration, land registration, health information systems, financial management, and others.
GICT is required to support its clients with high quality analytical products, technical assistance and funding of ICT components. In doing so, GICT taps global expertise in order to provide clients with the benefit of best practices, and cutting edge solutions and approaches. GICT now wishes to widen its access to international expertise, by entering into arrangements with leading consulting firms in the area of ICT for rapid access to specialized resources.
