Pole pole we go to Tanzania

Piano piano si va lontano. And pole pole we got to Tanzania. Pole pole in Swahili means slowly by slowly. And pole pole we got the Tanzania Start-Up Facility project approved. The Tanzania Start-up Facility Project that we submitted last September was approved by the DANIDA office in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, just 2 days ago.

Following a study visit conducted in November 2004 by Consultant Mr.Thomas Thestrup, Danish Management Group found in DataVision a potential partner to cover the consulting market in Tanzania and a good point to set-up business in East Africa. Subsequently, Danish Management Group and DataVision decided to apply for a Danida Start-up Facility Grant under the Danida PS program. This was done due the following reasons:

  1. There is an existing demand and a large market potential within the consulting business in Tanzania and the East African Region. Demand that requires local knowledge and on the ground experience about East Africa as well as international experience and expertise. United, both companies can provide an attractive range of professional services.
  2. Both parties want to engage in capacity building and mutual transfer of knowledge especially within the areas of Energy and ICT consulting, Monitoring and Evaluation where concrete business opportunities exist.

Danish Management Group and DataVision want to enter into a strategic alliance and form either a business corporation contract or some sort of Joint Venture. This is to be defined during the Start-up Facility Project. The Start-up facility project will need to be conducted approximately within 6 months from the date of the approval of the start-up facility plan.
The project will include 4 phases of training provided by Danish Management Group in business development, IT, Project Management and Energy. The training will allow sharing competencies and establishing a business plan for the future cooperation. Included on the training will be a study visit from 2 of the senior managers of Datavision to Denmark to stretch the relation with the 2 companies.

This project is budgeted at around EUR 67,000. Its members are President Mr. Frantz Longhi, Consultant Ms. Carmen Hyttel, Economist Mrs. Annegrete Lausten and ICT Coordinator Ms. Kira Kariakin from Danish Management Group and Consultants Mr. Geoffrey Mwajoinga, Mr. Goodchance A. Mariki, Mr. Abel Busalama, Mr. Eric Makoye, Mr. Abel Busalama and Mr. Madock Chwenda from DataVision.

Hopefully the project will kick-off at the beginning of January next year.
