World Bank Follows Danish Management Group's Trend

ImageDanish Management Group’s trendsetting idea of purchasing green power for all its employees’ electricity consumption is now being followed by World Bank.

The Bank will purchase green power for all electricity consumption at its head office in Washington - 85 million kilowatt-hours of renewable energy certificates from WindCurrent of Maryland, a company that sells wind power to the mid-Atlantic power grid. The purchase represents enough electricity for 8,000 homes for one year, and is equivalent to eliminating the CO2 emissions of 10,000 cars for one year or planting 15,000 acres of trees, according to figures from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Upon hearing this, Danish Management Group President Mr. Frantz Longhi exclaimed: "It’s always nice to lead the way! As you all know, Danish Management Group showed its commitment to renewable energy by purchasing green power four years ago..."
