The purpose of this EUR 900,000 EC-project is to tackle the digital
divide since Internet take-up and access in Lithuania is lagging behind
the average of other EU accession countries' and since Internet Service
Providers avoid rural areas because of lack of profitability in the
service provision.
Danish ICT Management will among others
provide its expertise in the area of establishing a WEB portal for
management and communication exchange.
The more technical
tasks such as the putting into operation 300 rural access points and
the monitoring of their operation will be carried out by our Lithuanian
partners.
